Enable two-factor authentication (MFA)

How to add a second factor (TOTP) to your Livra account.

Updated · 20 May 2026

Two-factor authentication dramatically reduces the risk if someone guesses your password. Livra uses standard TOTP, compatible with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, Bitwarden, etc.).

How to enable it

  1. Open Account → Security → Two-factor authentication.
  2. Tap “Enable”. A QR code will appear.
  3. Scan it with your authenticator app.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app to confirm.
  5. Save the recovery codes somewhere secure (a password manager, not a plain note on your phone).

Recovery codes

We give you 10. Each one can only be used once. They’re there for when you lose the phone with your authenticator app.

If you lose both the codes and the phone at the same time, we can’t restore access. That’s why we recommend keeping them somewhere other than the phone.

Disabling it

From the same screen. You’ll need your current TOTP code to confirm. Without it, it can’t be disabled (for security).

When it’ll be mandatory

For accounts on the Pro and Portfolio plans, MFA will become mandatory in the future. Enabling it now avoids friction when that change rolls out.
